The experimental course set up (and carried out two times in a row) by VHS Göttingen Osterode provided solutions for both problems: it intertwined topcis of "self-care on the job" with literacy skills centered around the specific needs in nursing. The course was based on previous work of VHS Göttingen to develop this topic and used teaching aids deveoped in a previous project. The special set up of the course, as well as the arrangements found with local nursing facilities, were unique to the MobileBE project and are highly innovative.
